Dimapur 24/7 donates to flood-hit Assam

Dimapur, August 26 (MExN): Even as Assam reels under the grip of floods, a social media group from Nagaland initiated a donation drive to raise funds for providing relief to the flood affected state of Assam.

Dimapur 24/7 on Wednesday informed that it had raised Rs 54,030 from its Online Charity Drive for Assam this year.

In the previous year too, the team had organised a street music charity concert and funds collected from the event was used to donate relief items to the flood victims in the nearby affected areas of Assam.

This year, due to the COVID-19 restrictions, the charity drive was conducted online from July 22 to August 25.

From the total collected fund, Rs 50,000 was deposited into the Chief Minister Relief Fund Assam, while the remaining Rs 4000 has been donated to a family in need in Purana Bazar, Dimapur for medical treatment, it informed.

In its statement, Dimapur 24/7 thanked the all the donors for their support.
