Dimapur: 25 forest guards complete training at SEFTI

Dimapur, October 12 (MExN): A batch of 25 Forest Guards completed the six-month training programme at the State Environment and Forestry Training Institute (SEFTI) in Dimapur. The convocation of the 42nd batch for forest guard training was conducted at Training Institute in Signal Bosti, Dimapur on October 11. 

Dharmendra Prakash, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests & Head of Forest Force graced the programme as chief guest and exhorted the trainees to implement what they have learnt during the Training in the field. He also advised them to adopt schools in their places of posting to disseminate forestry activities to the students. Reminding that they are the foot soldiers of the department and know more than the officers about what is going on at the ground level, he advised them to always find opportunities to help create good image of the department.

According to a press release from the Deputy Director, SEFTI Obed Bohovi Swu, Director of the Training Institute, M Shakiba Yimchunger gave the annual convocation address and congratulated the trainees. Speech on behalf of the passing out trainees was delivered by Imlong Chang, Forest Guard Trainee from Intanki National Park. 

The programme ended with a vote of thanks from Florence Sangtam, Range Officer, Medziphema and former faculty of the Institute.
