Dimapur, July 31 (MExN): Hoito, Singrijan, Khopanala, Tir, and Molvom villages under Dimapur district have achieved 100% coverage of their eligible population with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
256 eligible beneficiaries in Hoito village, 825 in Singrijan village, 519 in Khopanala, 82 in Tir village, and 605 in Molvom village have been vaccinated with the first dose.
Kimnei, District Media Officer (NHM) Dimapur informed that the feat was achieved through the co-operation of the community leaders.
Dr Rebecca, DPO, UIP/RCH expressed gratitude towards the communities of these villages and the village authorities for their active participation and support during the COVID-19 vaccination outreach sessions.
She also appreciated the health workers for carrying out their duties with diligence and sincerity.
Dr Rebecca further stated that such achievement not only protects the communities but also encourages others to come forward and get vaccinated. We can fight and end this pandemic only if we all work together, create awareness on vaccine efficacy and safety, and all eligible population get vaccinated, she said and expressed hope that more villages and wards in Dimapur district would come forward for vaccination.
