Dimapur, April 21 (MExN): The Dimapur District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) monthly meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman, DPDB, Dr Tinojongshi Chang, NCS at the DC conference hall, Dimapur on April 21.
As per the DIPR report, Advisor of Industries & Commerce and MLA, Hekani Jakhalu, who attended the meeting, encouraged officers to work as a team and uphold the district’s reputation. Emphasising that Dimapur is the “nerve centre” of the state, she urged the administration to lead by example for other districts to follow.
Jakhalu also highlighted the urgency of monsoon preparedness, requesting that it be included in the agenda of the next meeting.
She commended the contributions of women officers, especially from DHEW and Sakhi OSC, for their impactful work and encouraged departments to collaborate more effectively.
In her address, Jakhalu reflected on the role of government servants as public leaders and divine stewards, sharing a personal message of inspiration and urging all officers to continue serving the community with sincerity and faith.
Key agendas included the upgradation of Itiki Montessori School up to Class-8 at Darogapathar and the registration of the society “Vision for Change” at Hill View Colony, both of which were agreed upon and forwarded for approval. The board also approved the proposal to rename a road under the East Dimapur Town Council jurisdiction.
A proposal seeking the establishment of a separate administrative headquarters in East Dimapur was discussed, and a committee will be constituted to study its feasibility.
Departmental presentations were made by the Health & Family Welfare Department (CMO), Sakhi One Stop Centre (OSC), District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW), and the Water Resources Department.
The meeting concluded with an announcement that the Department of Power and PWD will make PowerPoint presentations at the next DPDB meeting. The meeting was attended by all the district heads.
