Dimapur, October 3 (MExN): Dimapur police along with the Assam police of Karbi Anglong District conducted a joint operation in the border areas of Dellai and Newfield Check-gate on October 3. While the objective of the joint exercise was to instil confidence among the people of the two states living in these areas, the focus was also to curb the presence and movement of anti-social elements from taking advantage of the porous border.

As per a press release from Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police/PRO, Dimapur, the joint exercise will continue regularly in the coming days to establish peace and a sense of security among the people living in the border areas, which includes daily business commuters and transporters. The exercise was carried out on the directive of PHQ, Kohima and coordinated by the office of Commissioner of Police, Dimapur and Superintendent of Police, Karbi Anglong, Assam.
