Dimapur CSOs mandate collective consultation over conflict

Dimapur, June 22 (MExN): Civil society organisations (CSOs) in Dimapur have resolved to strengthen cooperation and settle disputes through collective consultation, following a joint meeting convened by the Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) and the Naga Women Hoho Dimapur (NWHD).

The resolution, adopted after consecutive meetings, acknowledged past misunderstandings among CSO leaders and affirmed to “strengthen cooperation and coordination on matter of common importance so that CSOs should not trespass against established authorities and mandated jurisdiction.”

The resolution mandated that any issues, disputes, or grievances among constituent organisations, tribal apex bodies, and CSOs under Dimapur District shall be addressed through “appropriate mechanisms of collective consultation, dialogue, and resolution within the purview of the NCD.”

The signatories to the resolution stated that the move was aimed at “maintaining collective responsibility, mutual respect, harmony and unity among the constituent organisations.”

The resolution was jointly signed by GK Rengma, President, NCD, Y Imlinungla, President, NWHD, Zasivikho Zakiesato, President, Dimapur Urban Council Chairmen Federation, GB Union Dimapur Sadar (S), Akashe Zhimomi, President, Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Hinoto P Aomi President, Dimapur Naga Students’ Union.
