Dimapur CSOs reiterate demand on NLTP Act, infra developments, pol issues

Dimapur, September 6 (MExN): A meeting of Dimapur-based Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) under the aegis of  Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) on September 6 has resolved  to extend unflinching support the recent charter of demands submitted to the Governor of Nagaland and also form an action committee related with the Naga political issue.

The demands included construction of by-pass road on National Highway-29 in Dimapur; construction of road to new Naga Cemetery, Zani Village; completion of multi-disciplinary sports complex; completion of Dimapur Civil Hospital building constructions; construction of flyover bridge from Plaza point to the present Railway Bridge; lifting of Nagaland Liquor Total Prohibition Act, 1989, exclusively in Dimapur; and reinstating the construction of Unity Shopping Mall in Dimapur as per the official sanctioned order.

The September 6 meeting also resolved that all the Dimapur based Tribal hohos, CSOs and Non-Naga community organisations to extend unflinching support to the NCD to materialise the charter of demands, informed a press release from the NCD.  

Meanwhile, the meeting also resolved to implement the resolution No 2 adopted in the meeting of Dimapur based tribal hohos, unions and CSOs on December 7, 2022 and form an action committee, with suitable nomenclature under aegis of NCD Vigilance Committee on September 10. 

The committee will comprised of tribal hohos, unions and Non-Naga representatives.

Among others, the action committee is tasked to bring the slogan of NCD, "One Government, One Tax" into action.
It is also empowered to resolve Naga Political Imbroglio at the earliest and streamline all the business activities in a stringent system.

The committee will also be responsible for framing model rules and regulations for all other unions operating in Dimapur.

All tribal hohos, unions, CSOs of various communities both Nagas and Non-Nagas present resolved to extend full cooperation in the activities of action committee mentioned for all round developments, peace and harmony, fair and honest business activities in Dimapur, the release said

Meanwhile, the members present resolved to urge the concerned department to initiate immediate proper functioning of Unity Shopping Mall in Forest Colony and the Inter State Bus Terminus in Purana Bazaar, Dimapur, it added. 

The meeting also expressed gratitude to Minister of Health and Family Welfare, P Paiwang Konyak for his prompt action of visiting District Hospital Dimapur and assuring to transform it into Referral Hospital for all districts and donate medical equipments worth Rs 66.50 lakh.

The meeting held to deliberate on issues of common interest for Dimapur public was chaired by the NCD President Etsungmomo Kikon and it was attended by 75 members out of listed 85 organisations inclusive of NCD affiliated and non-affiliated tribal hohos, unions and various communities based in Dimapur, the release added.
