Dimapur, February 10 (MExN): Representatives from all Health Units under the Dimapur Chief Medical Officer, District Vertical Programme Officers, and CMO office staff attended the Dimapur District Health Authority’s monthly review meeting on February 10, at the CMO’s Conference Hall.

The meeting was conducted by CMO Dr Moatemjen who informed that all Centers who have registered their ultrasound machines before 2014 must undergo a Competency Test, as per the guidelines of Government of India. The test is only for Generalist and not for Specialist practitioners. Similarly, centers who have registered their ultrasound after 2014 must have trained personnel to operate the machine or ensure that their personnel undergo six months of training. The designated Training center in Nagaland is Naga Hospital Authority, Kohima (NHAK), he informed.

He re-sensitised the members on the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PC-PNDT) Act which is an Act of the Parliament of India to ban prenatal sex determination to stop female foeticide, while adding that defaulters of this Act would be penalised as per the Act, the release stated.

He also urged the medical staff to take advantage of the Village Health Nutrition Day held monthly in every village to promote health awareness and other health related activities such as non-communicable diseases, vector borne diseases, etc., besides immunisation and ante-natal check-up.

The CMO informed that Dr Kavito has been designated as the District Nodal Officer for Medical Department for the upcoming Nagaland Election 2023 and one Medical Officer from each Block has been designated as Sectoral Nodal Officers. He also informed that all medical staff must be in their place of posting till the conclusion of the Election and be prepared for any eventualities during the Election.

In this connection, he said that the DNO Dr Kavito has informed that a WhatsApp Group of all Private and Public Empanelled Hospitals has been formed for quick transfers of information. He further requested all Sectoral Nodal Officers to be prepared with all necessary logistics and equipments.

Meanwhile, the CMO further informed that Dr A Yanrenthung Jami, Senior Specialist (OBG), DH Dimapur and Imlinoba Changkiri, DPM (QA) Dimapur, will be visiting all CHCs and PHCs in the district on the 9th of every month as part of Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (PMSMA)  monitoring and supervision visits and to give their support and co-operation during their visits.

Dr Antoly Suu, Dy CMO also urged the Health units to ensure that all medical staffs are registered under Chief Minister's Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme (CMCHIS) and to continue until each Health Units have achieved 100% registration.
