DIMAPUR, MARCH 11 (MExN): The Dimapur district level sports meet was held on March 11 at Government Higher Secondary school ground, Nagarjan, Dimapur. 


District Public Relations Officer, Dimapur, Lolano Patton was the special guest for the event. It was organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra Dimapur (Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, GOI) in collaboration with Sports Association India (SAI) and DPRO office Dimapur.


Delivering the inaugural address, Lolano Patton reminded the sportspersons about the immense benefit gained through sports both physically and mentally besides teaching us value of honesty, team work and fair play.


Patton further reminded the players that playing sports was not only about winning but the participation that matters. "As you participate in games and sports, in the process you learn so many valuable skills, including leadership, value of teamwork and cooperation. It also teaches you how to handle stress and pressure, set goals and to work hard to reach the targetted goals, besides giving you the opportunity to built relationship with coaches and your peers," she maintained. 


Earlier, Ketounyu from Nehru Yuva Volunteers (NYV) delivered the welcome note while Changlemla Chang (NYV) chaired and delivered the welcome note. Vote of thanks was proposed by Kevineino Teruja from NYV.
