Dimapur: ‘Do not throw garbage in drainage’

Dimapur, June 28 (MExN): The Dimapur District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held at DCs Conference Hall, Dimapur on June 28. 

In the meeting, Advisor, Labour Employment and Skill Development, Excise and chairman DPDB Moatoshi Longkumer asked the members and all the district officers to spread the message of not throwing garbage in the drainage and to take the responsibility to inculcate cleanliness to every individual. 

Citing the recent flooding in Dimapur he viewed it as man-made disaster caused by blocked drainages. He requested the District Administration and DMC to depute a team for photographic evidences of people throwing garbage into the drainage and also to undertake verification for listing the drainage encroachers and to serve notice to the defaulters for further legal action.

The Chairman also appreciated the Departments for undertaking plantation drive for beautification of Dimapur, stated a DIPR report. 

The meeting deliberated on several agendas which included compulsory installation of CCTVs in all the shops and streets under Dimapur district. The chairman requested all the departments to mandatorily install CCTV in their respective offices for the safety and protection of Government properties as number of stolen reports are on the rise. 
Towards this, DC Dimapur Sachin Jaiswal IAS has informed the members that an order will be issued.

Another agenda discussed was regarding removal of obsolete cable wires and telephone posts which destroys the outlook of the city.

 To this, DC Dimapur informed the house that the district administration has met the Cable TV providers and field visit has also been conducted by SDO (C) and action would be initiated.

The house also approved to adopt a resolution to forward to the Government for temporary shifting of DC office till the New office building is constructed and Society registration of Chingthur Foundation located at Zeliangrongram Colony, Dimapur; Hutmen Charitable Society located at Viola Colony, Dimapur; and Grant-in-Aid to Lamstand Higher Secondary School, Toluvi Village, Dimapur and Relocation/Shifting of King David School from Nepali Bosti to Sector-3 Kushiabill.

The house approved for Dimapur Up-gradation of Schools including; GMS Dimapur Town to Govt High School, United Colony; GMS Padumpukhuri to Govt. High School; GPS Mishikito to Govt Middle School, Phaiphijang; Stepping Stone School, Duncan Bosti; Society Registration for Immanuel College located at Lingrijan, Dimapur.
