Dimapur excise personnel seize 1098 assorted liquor

Dimapur, March 14 (MExN): Dimapur excise personnel have seized 1098 bottles of assorted liquor from shops and hotels in the past seven days. In a release, superintendent of excise & prohibition, KY Sangtam informed that 12 persons have been arrested and booked under NLTP Act 1989. The areas which were raided included Deluxe Junction, Blue Hill station, Burma Camp, and Dhobi Nullah.

As per the direction of Election Commission of India (Committee on Liquor Monitoring), it informed, the district excise will increase enforcement duties through stricter surveillance, detections, seizures, and intelligence sharing with other enforcement agencies. KY Sangtam has requested co-operation from the public, ward members, village councils and NGOs for successful implementation of the Prohibition Act and liquor free election.
