Dimapur, February 12 (MExN): An Excise Mobile Squad duty party stationed at New Field Check gate intercepted a truck on February 12 and recovered 18,276 bottles of assorted liquor.
According to a press release from the Dimapur Superintendent of Excise and Prohibition (MS), K Toshiho Yeptho, the squad led by Assistant Inspector Rukhriezetuo received a tip-off and intercepted the truck (registration no- AS09 BC 0918). Upon searching the vehicle, a total of 18276 bottles of assorted liquor that were concealed under fly ash bricks were recovered.
In this connection, two persons, identified as Khundrakpam Basanta Singh and Thokcham Naoba Singh were arrested under relevant sections of the NLTP Act. The seized articles have been deposited in the Excise malkhana and further investigation of the case is on, the release informed.
