Dimapur, February 2 (MExN): The Dimapur District Excise duty party manning Dillai Inter-State excise checkgate on Wednesday at around 8:45 pm on a routine frisking duty intercepted a vehicle (Truck) bearing regd. No. AS28C 9766.
On frisking the vehicle the duty party recovered 300 cases of assorted IMFL concealed under hardware materials, stated a press release issued by Tokuho Assumi, Superintendent of Excise & Prohibition, Dimapur.
In this connection, one Jinnat Ali (23) was arrested and booked under the relevant section of the NLTP ACT 1989. The duty party was led by Mainshila AIE, Akahoto H/C, Constables Sorenthung, Chingjei, Amet, Welikha, Lutachu and lady constable Amenla.
Meanwhile, it also stated that the Dimapur District Excise has heightened surveillance in checkgates and various pockets of the District as a Nodal agency of EEM in view of the upcoming General Election in the State.
