
DIMAPUR, NOV 2 (MExN): Dimapur Govt. Higher Secondary School scored 95 points and were selected to represent Nagaland at the National Level contest to be held on 10th November 2005 at Kolkata. Govt. Higher Secondary School, Phek scored 61.5 points.
Additional Director School Education, Nipusilie Angami inaugurated the 2 day State Level Physics & Science Exhibition 2005, organised by Directorate of School Education in collaboration with BIRLA Industrial Technological Music, Kolkata and NCERT New Delhi as the Chief Guest at Govt. Higher Secondary School, Kohima today.
According to an official news bulletin, the Chief Guest while addressing the function said human beings would find it difficult to survive if science as a subject was absent. To excel in such disciplines one has to participate in extra-curricular activities like quiz, seminars and exhibitions apart from class room education, he added. He further said that higher education required higher competition. The Chief Guest wished the participants to take more interest and to be well prepared for their career.
The welcome song was presented by Bethel Higher Secondary School, Kohima, introductory speech was delivered by the chairman B Tingshen Konyak, Deputy Director, DSE. A Science Exhibition will also be held on 3rd November 2005 at 2:30 PM where the Guest of Honour will be Joint Director of DSE, Khevito Sema.
