Dimapur issues safety advisory on monsoon

Dimapur, July 3 (MExN): The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Dimapur taking into account the onset of the monsoon season has requested the public to avoid any economic, leisure (fishing, picnic etc) or other activities along the rivers across the district.


DC & Chairman, DDMA Anoop Khinchi, IAS issued this in view of the advisory issued by the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority with regard to the weather forecast from July 1 to 12. 


DDMA Dimapur has urged the public to be vigilant and not to shelter under large trees and near the river banks to prevent unnecessary risk to life from lightning and flash flood. It also urged all line departments who are responsible to attend to any emergencies caused by natural calamities to be on alert to save lives and properties during this monsoon period.
