Dimapur: Joint Council of 11 villages urge Govt for completion of roads

Dimapur, August 14 (MExN): The Joint Council of 11 villages along the 4-lane foothill crossroad in Dimapur district has appealed Nagaland government to complete road construction along the 4th Mile, Diphupar to Niuland stretch at the earliest. The council, in an open appeal addressed to the Chief Minister on Saturday, stated that residents of the area have been facing untold misery and hardship as the only route connecting them to the rest of the district has been damaged with the onset of monsoon. The construction work along the stretch was stopped after soling was done in February this year and the damage has made it difficult for small and medium vehicles to ply, it said. As such, the council sought the chief minister’s immediate attention and appealed for early completion and black-topping of the road. It cautioned that it would be compelled to take any action as deemed fit and proper, in case the government fails to fulfil its just demand.
