DIMAPUR, MAY 3 (MExN): The Dimapur Longsa Youth Forum (DLYF) was officially launched by Akum Ezung, Chairman, Dimapur Longsai Ekhung at The Oasis, Khermahal Dimapur in the presence of host Zuchanthung Ezung, business entrepreneur along with elders of Dimapur Longsai Ekhung (DLE) and Longsai residing in Dimapur.
Speaking on the occasion, Akum Ezung described the day as a red letter day for the Longsa village members residing in Dimapur. Dwelling on the formation of the Youth Forum in Dimapur, he said that the idea conceived by young and educated youths to open such forum for the welfare of the village was indeed praise worthy. The Chairman dealing on the issue of the village welfare said some of the tasks which the DLE could not undertake will be taken care by the DLYF. He challenged the youths to be re-dedicated and united to achieve the aims and goals set for the welfare of the village. He also read out the letter of authorization on behalf of the DLE.
Thunglanbemo Ezung, Associate Pastor, Senjum village Dimapur said the dedication of the newly inducted office bearers and encouraged the DLYF to go ahead with the objectives set in order to strengthen the Longsa villagers residing in Dimapur.
President DLYF, in his address read out the aims and objectives of Dimapur Longsa Youth Forum. He said that the DLYF was established to provide a goodwill mission and to develop clear and effective formal platform to address the grievances of the youths and to promote social welfare for the greater interest and benefit of Longsai people in general.
Publicity Secretary, Sebastian Ezung felicitated the host Zuchanthung Ezung for extending his unflinching support to the DLYF. Z. Hayibemo Ezung, general secretary, Longsa village youth organization (LVYO) also delivered short message on behalf of LVYO.
The inaugural function of DLYF witnessed dance performance by free style dancer David Ezung, who was also a semifinalist in Naga promo talent show 2013. He was also selected in India's got talent audition.
The programme was chaired by Chonthungo Anthony Ezung, invocation prayer by Wothungbemo Ezung, benediction by Etsurhomo Kikon, while W. Rhontsuthung Ezung, general secretary DLYF pronounced the vote of thanks.
The new inducted executive is led by M Zachamo Ezung President. B Amos ezung V/P, W Rhontsuthung Gen. Secy. Y Renvungthung Ezung Jt. Secy. L Mhonthung Ezung Finance Secy, N Yanpothung Kikon Asstt. Finance Secy. Sebastian Ezung. Public relation Secy. Martha Lotha, Zuchobeni E Lotha,Lucy Lotha ,Oreno Murry as women Co – ordinators.
Meanwhile,the Forum also inducted Y Khyothung as its treasurer and M Yanrenthung Humtsoe, Zuchanthung Ezung, Chonthungo Anthony Ezung and Renthungo Ezung as advisors for the current tenure.
