The Dimapur Lotha Students’ Union (DLSU) will be commemorating the 50th year of founding October 14 and 15. The Organising Committee informed on October 13 that it is all set to celebrate the jubilee at the Dimapur Government College (DGC) complex.
Convenor of the Organising Committee, K Mhachio Lotha said that through the jubilee, the students’ community seeks to acknowledge the elders and the pioneers and their enduring contribution, which ensured the continuation and growth of the DLSU over 50 years.
The jubilee celebration will be spread out over three sessions, beginning with the inaugural session on October 14 at 3:00 pm, where Mhathung Yanthan, MLA & Advisor, Horticulture & Border Affairs, will be the special guest.
The main session on October 15 will take place at the DGC Auditorium where the Deputy Chief Minister, Y Patton will be the chief guest. The session will start at 10:00 am. The valedictory function at 2:30 pm will have Mmhonlumo Kikon as special guest.
The celebration will culminate with an entertainment extravaganza— Jubilee Nite, at the DGC ground in the evening. It will feature performances by up and coming Naga artists and bands like About Us, Paradigm Shift, Meribeni Patton and Gideon Kithan a 7-year old guitar prodigy.
It will be an open air, entry-free event and the organizing committee requested people from all communities to come and be a part of the celebration.
