Dimapur, November 7 (MExN): The Dimapur District Citizens’ Forum (DDCF) has welcomed the timely action of Kohima Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) and the Police for the safe release of kidnapped businessman of Kohima from Dimapur. However, it is questionable as to why the identity of the kidnappers has been concealed unlike other cases in the past, DDCF media cell stated in a press release.
DDCF said it is sad that Dimapur the commercial hub is plagued with the virus of kidnapping, abduction, detention, and taxation in various forms. “This virus needs proper treatment by the concern authority for the wellbeing of the district in particular and the state in general. It is also a big question as to why some members of the NPGs are often in the limelight for issues that has nothing to do with the Naga national movement,” it said.
“At the same time when there are state law enforcing agencies, why do people approach the NPGs for petty issue? The state law enforcing agencies also need to ponder why they are often ignored for settlement of various issues. Or has such issues cropped out of illegal transactions?” the forum questioned.
Meanwhile, with the onset of the festive season, DDCF has appealed one and all to make Dimapur a safe and peaceful city for all citizens and visitors.
