Dimapur, May 16 (MExN): Dimapur Police have arrested four GPRN/NSCN cadres for illegal collection of tax. On May 15 around 3:30 pm, Dimapur Police arrested two persons, Captain Hokishe Achumi (43) and 2nd Lt Vikashe Yepthomi (35), for “illegal collection of yearly tax from the shopkeepers in and around Dimapur Town,” stated a press release from PRO, Dimapur Police. They both admitted they were members of GPRN/NSCN, according to the release.
Cash of Rs. 29,840/-, ten pieces of papers where names, phone numbers and names of the shops were noted and two mobile handsets were recovered from their possession, it added. Accordingly, a case has been registered and further investigation is on.
Dimapur Police also arrested two GPRN/NSCN cadres on May 16 around 12:00 pm for illegal collection of yearly tax from Zasokie Market Area. They have been identified as Deputy Kilonser Khevito Kini (78) and Joint Secretary Kheketo Yeptho (38). The Dimapur Police PRO informed that cash of Rs. 11,280/-, 8 assignment orders and two mobile handsets were recovered from the possession of the two cadres. A case has been registered and further investigation is on in this connection, it added.
