Dimapur, October 18 (MExN): In the last over a week, Dimapur Police have registered several cases for various crimes.
In connection with motorcycle theft case on October 7 at 7th Mile Sodzulhou Village, Dimapur Police on October 15 around 7:30 pm during routine checking at Central Jail junction, Dimapur recovered the stolen motorcycle and arrested one person identified as Akou Kapfo (21). A case has been registered for further investigation, informed a press release from Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police/PRO, Dimapur.
Meanwhile, on October 8 around 9:30 pm, Signal Angami Village youth apprehended two persons, one a juvenile and the other identified as Joseph Rai (22), while they were issuing work permits of NSCN (IM). 13 numbers of NSCN (IM) work permit along with cash amount of Rs. 1460/- was seized from their possession, according to the release, which added that a case has been registered at SBN PS for further investigation.
On October 10, the Crime Branch (CID) PHQ apprehended two persons – Vihiyi Kiba and Khekiho (32) – while they were allegedly extorting money from truck drivers at Ghorapatti area, Dimapur. The personnel, the PRO said, also recovered the following articles from the duo’s possession: Gate Pass of Guide Associated (Sl No. 951 to 999); 8 numbers of Goods Challan of M/s S. Toye Aye; 1 Guide Association; Notebook with handwritten entry of various vehicles; 9 numbers of Foster Beer; 7 bottles of Mc Dowel Rum (quarter size); 22 OC Blue Whisky (Quarter Size); Cash amount of Rs. 28240/. In this connection, a case has been registered at West PS for further investigation.
In another incident, four ILP defaulters were detained during routine duty at Chumukedima Check gate on October 10. They have been identified as Hari Singh Gurjar (31) of Jaipur, Rajasthan; Shankarlal Meena (39) of Khurd village, Jaipur, Rajasthan; Govind Singh (34) of Bedakanki village, Karauli, Rajasthan; Dev Karan Kumawat (40) of Budha Deval village, Tonk, Rajasthan. A case has been registered at Chumukedima PS for further investigation, the release said.
Further on October 11, Dimapur Police arrested one Aristo N. Vinoka Sumi while distributing extortion slips of NSCN (K) to business communities in Dimapur. Three extortion slips of NSCN (K) were seized from his possession, the PRO stated. Accordingly, a case has been registered at East PS for further investigation.
One person identified as Vinato Chophy (26) was apprehended while stealing mobile handset from the GB’s residence at Island Colony, Dimapur on October 11 around 2:00 am. A case has been registered at East PS for further investigation.
On October 13 around 7:45 am, D’Coy 9th NAP (IR) during MVCP duty at Nepali Bosti junction, Dimapur apprehended one Hongpe (32), Lieut. of GPRN/NSCN and seized the following articles from his possession: 1 9MM pistol with magazine and 10 live rounds; 1.32 pistol with 2 magazine and 8 live rounds. Accordingly, a regular case has been registered and investigation is on.
Dimapur Police Anti-Extortion Team (AET) Zone–I also apprehended two persons – Langton Konyak (19) and Kinto Kiba while they were collecting taxes from truck drivers at Murgipatti in the name of Truck Owners Association Nagaland on October 17. 6 numbers of extortion slips and cash amount of Rs. 1460/- were seized from their possessions and a case has been registered for further investigation, the release added.
