Commuters and workers had a narrow escape at NH 29 after another rockslide occurred at the ongoing Dimapur-Kohima 4-lane construction site at the Chümoukedima stretch on September 15 evening.
According to the police, the rockslide occurred around 4:00 pm near the Chümoukedima police checkpost, blockading the crucial highway. The falling rocks damaged two dumper trucks but no one was hurt. The trucks belonged to the construction firm and were stationary at the time.
At the time of filing this report, the debris was partially cleared allowing single lane traffic.
