Dimapur, May 18 (MExN): In view of the upcoming Mission Indradhanush programme (MI) to be held under the umbrella of Gram Swaraj Abhiyaan, a meeting of the Dimapur Task Force Committee was convened under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Dimapur, Sushil Kumar Patel (IAS) on May 17, at DCs conference hall Dimapur. Dimapur DPRO in a report stated that the second round of Intensified Mission Indradhanush would be observed from May 21 to 15. In the meeting, DC Dimapur congratulated the medical department for covering the programme in 82 identified villages under Dimapur within the time frame, during the 1st round. Informing that there are around 250 villages under Dimapur district, Sushil advised them to prepare time schedule in order to cover the remaining 200 odd villages.
Emphasising on the importance of the programme, Patel opined, “If kids are healthy from childhood they will remain healthy throughout their life.” District Programme Officer (UIP/RCH), Dr. Rebecca Y. Sema sought the cooperation of the district administration, NGOs, media, for successful implementation of the programme by creating more awareness so that people would come forward to avail the vaccination.
Highlighting on the objective of Special IMI, she explained that the flagship proof of GOI aims at increasing full immunization coverage of children to 90%.
