Dimapur TOLIC discusses progressive use of Hindi

Dimapur, January 24 (MExN): The first biannual meeting of Dimapur TOLIC (Town Official Language Implementation Committee) was held at ARTC & S, Dimapur under the Chairmanship of Colonel N N Singh, CO No. 2 Training Battalion of ARTC & S. Ashok Kumar Mishra, Assistant Director (Implementation) of Official Language Regional Implementation Office, Guwahati also attended the meeting as a representative of GoI, Official Language Department. N. K Solanki, Assistant General Manager SIDBI, Guwahati (NE Region) graced the occasion as a guest member.
Assessing the progress regarding implementation of the official language Hindi in central government offices, Colonel N N Singh stressed on the importance of progressive use of Hindi and exhorted all members to implement the policies issued by the Government of India regarding publicity and implementation of the official language. He also highlighted the importance of Hindi typing training of staff on computers in order to increase Hindi correspondence. The chairman advised the members to organise various Hindi competitions in their offices during Hindi day and other occasions in order to promote the use of the official language in NE region.
Speaking on the occasion, Ashok Kumar Mishra, Assistant Director (Implementation) Official Language stressed on the training of the non-Hindi staff under Hindi teaching scheme in order to make them efficient to work in Hindi. He also highlighted the importance of the progressive use of Hindi in Central Government offices and requested all the members to implement all Hindi incentive schemes introduced by the Government of India in their respective offices. Meanwhile, next TOLIC meeting has been scheduled in August 2011 under the aegis of ARTC & S, Dimapur.
