Dimapur Total Lockdown: Here's what’s allowed, and what’s not

The Dimapur District Task Force on Friday has enforced an 8-day total lockdown in Dimapur from July 26 to August 2. The decision was taken during an emergency meeting of the DTF on July 24.

The total lockdown, according to an order from the Deputy Commissioner Dimapur, has been imposed   “enhance active surveillance and to ensure comprehensive contact tracing, detection of suspected cases and implementation of isolation measures so that the chain of transmission of COVID-19 infection can be slowed down and contained.”

Failure to comply with the order would invite strict penal actions as per the provisions of Section 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act 2005 besides legal action under Section 188 of the IPC and other provisions wherever application, the DC stated.


Here's what ‘s allowed during the lockdown:
•    Functioning of the offices of District Administration, Police, Security Forces, Medical and Essential Service Providers like Treasury, Fire & Emergency Services, Home Guards & Civil Defence, Prisons, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, Airport Authority of India & Airlines, District Courts, Life Insurance, PHED, Power, NIC, DIPR, Food & Civil Supplies, Social Welfare, IT&C, Municipality/Town Council, AIR, Doordarshan, Central Institute of Horticulture Medziphema, ICAR Jharnapani, Agri & Allied Departments, Postal Services, Pharmacies, Medical Clinics, Nursing Homes, BSNL & Private Telecom Services, Internet Service Providers, Media, LPG, Banks with minimal staff & ATMs, Petroleum outlets, Quarantine Centres,
•    Persons/patients with medical emergencies
•    person/individual involved in authorized COVID-19 related duties 
•    Inter-state and inter-district movement of all goods vehicles with proper safety measures in place.

Here's what’s prohibited during the lockdown:
•    All categories of shops would remain closed except pharmacies
•    All public movement would be prohibited except medical emergencies.
•    Movements of all types of vehicles, except for medical emergencies.
