DIMAPUR (MExN): A vehicle belonging to the paramilitary forces rammed into the rear of a private car bearing registration number NL- 07- 2349 ( Esteem) which was heading towards Khermahal today at the City Tower junction.
Traffic personnel who were at the spot took into custody both the vehicles. A near skirmish took place between the paramilitary personnel and the traffic personnel manning the junction. The two sides pulled and pushed each other when the military personnel tried to resist the traffic police from taking them into custody.
The military driver was identified as one Parvin belonging to the Madras regiment. The military personnel were coming from Imphal and were on their way to Arunachal Pradesh when the accident occurred. “The accident occurred due to careless driving by the army personnel”, said an eyewitness. Collisions of vehicles have become a daily roster in the commercial hub of the state due to reckless driving with major cases being caused by the military.
It must be mentioned that some time back even the Chief Minister of Nagaland had to bear the brunt of reckless driving by military forces when one of their vehicles rammed into the car in which the CM was traveling in towards Kohima.
