Kohima, December 13 (MExN): The All Nagaland College Students' Union (ANSCU) today urged the department and authority concerned to immediately complete the withdrawal proceedings on exigency to ensure the disbursal of the 2nd installment of CSS-PMS ST 2022-2023 to student beneficiaries before December 22.
Comprehend the need for scholarships by the students rather than introducing lame excuses in delaying the disbursement, stated a press release from ANCSU President Tenyesinlo Bukh and Assistant General Secretary Kivinoka A Sema.
If the department fails to disburse the scholarship within the aforementioned stipulated period, the ANCSU shall resort to any befitting democratic protest of the day, it cautioned.
As per the release, on November 17, ANSCU had already demanded the immediate release of the pending 2nd installment of Centrally Sponsored Scheme-Post Matric Scholarship ST (CSS-PMS ST) students of Nagaland for the year 2022-2023.
In response to the demand, the union also acknowledged the intervention of the State Government and the Minister and sanctioning Rs 26,25,00,000 (Rs 26.25 crore) as arrears for the year 2022-2023 and 1st instalment for the year 2023-2024 on December 13.
Accordingly, the ANCSU called for completing the withdrawal proceedings on exigency and disbursing the scholarship by December 22."
