
Dimapur, February 15 (MExN): With the Manipur Assembly election campaign heating up, the Zeilad Region of the NSCN (IM) organised a discourse on the Naga political dialogue for the 57 Henglep Assembly Constituency (AC) at the ANSAM Conference Hall, Tahamzan on February 9.
According to a press release from the NSCN (IM) MIP, the Zeilad Region with DG Robert as the CAO, “is on full gear to make the people understand the importance of the ongoing Indo-Naga political talks with reference to the Framework Agreement (FA).”
The discourse was attended by all the village authorities, civil society organizations (CSOs), youth wings and students’ organisations. They extended their fullest support to the ongoing Indo-Naga political talks based on the Framework Agreement of August 3, 2015, the release stated.
DG Robert, while addressing the meeting, stressed on the importance of staying alert lest people are trapped by ‘unscrupulous elements/agents’ for mere politicking and appealed to the attendees not to compromise the Naga people’s rights for monetary gains. He also reminded the people that the Indo-Naga political talk is moving in the right track and its fruition would come soon, the release stated.
The CAO was joined by JK Pamei, Kilonser and Member of the Political Affairs Committee (PAC) who stressed on the importance of standing together as one body to strengthen the political process for Naga solution, it said.
According to the release, at the end of the meeting, the Rongmei people of Loktak Project Area under the 57 Henglep AC unanimously adopted the declaration to extend full support to the Collective Leadership, NSCN and the Talk Team and support the ongoing Indo-Naga political talks.
They also appealed to both the NSCN and Government of India to expedite the Indo-Naga peace process based on the Framework Agreement inclusive of the Naga national flag and the Naga constitution (Yehzabo).
It further stated that the people declared that solution should be inclusive, honourable and acceptable to the Naga people based on the uniqueness of the Naga history.
