Tseminyu, June 29 (MExN): The village council members of Phenshunyu have resolved that the BSNL tower at the village should be dismantled as “it is not serving the purpose for which it is erected rather it is creating problems to the villagers.” “The BSNL tower erected at Phenshunyu village is of no use to the public; its utility is zero since its installation, the backup generator set supplied is defected one, the 25KVA transformer brought for power supply to the tower is lying rotten and there is no technician who visited the site to rectify the fault,” lamented a press statement from John Semy, Phenshunyu Village Council chairman. “The tower with such height upon the highest elevation within the heart of the village causes a lot of problems, especially during thunder and lightning,” it added. The village council pointed out that the tower has no lightning conductor installed, due to which “whenever there is heavy lightning the village transformer is destroyed every now and then.” Recently too, it said, the transformer was destroyed and the villagers are in total blackout when the whole world is watching the FIFA World Cup 2018.
