Dimapur, May 2 (MExN): Nagaland-based mixed martial arts fighter Avizo Lanamai registered a split decision victory over Shyamanand of Bihar in the featherweight division at the 18th edition of Matrix Fight Night held at Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on Saturday.
Representing The Combat Academy Nagaland and Kaizen MMA Bangalore, Lanamai faced a tough challenge from his opponent, who is regarded as one of the top contenders in the division.
In a closely contested professional bout, Lanamai secured a hard-fought win after three intense rounds.
With this victory, Lanamai improved his professional record to five wins and one loss, and extended his winning streak to three fights.
