Distance education launched at EIMT

DIMAPUR: To break the barrier of distance in education, the Eastern Institute of Management & Technology (EIMT) was today officially inaugurated by Yajen Aier, Rtd Director (Education). 

The institute is located at the Imliyanger Memorial Centre (IMC), Dimapur. The EIMT is a distance education wing under the AAI Deemed University of Allahabadh recognized by the University Grant Commission (UGC). 

The institute is aggregated by the National Aggregation and Assessment Council (NAAC) and financed by the Hornbill Finance Ltd including salary payments. 

Professor Imcha Yanger, Chairman, Managing Board of EIMT told The Morung Express that along with the education imparted, the institute will provide career guidance and counseling. The institute will be providing Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in both the sectors and has initiated to provide an employable quality of education in the Management and Information Technology sector. 

He further said that placement for further studies will be made available to the students. Financial assistance is also aimed to be made available for those who graduate from the institute for their future entrepreneurship. 

The primary aim of taking-up such type of distance education facility is to provide quality education with less expenditure by making availability of higher learning at our own locality ,he added. Bhadra, General Manager, Hornbill Finance Ltd. gave a brief history on the financial assistance made available for the institute. Rev. Shiwoto offered the dedicatory prayer on the occasion.
