District Hospital Phek conducts medical camp at Pholami

Kohima, February  27 (MExN): Under the banner “Stepping up: Reaching out initiative,” the District Hospital Phek has conducted a medical camp at Pholami village under Phek district on February 25 last.

With the theme “Ushering community towards better health,” the camp treated 130 villagers.  Free medicines have also been made available at the camp.

The camp witnessed general health check up,  surgery (minor) services, dental services, ultra sound screening, physiotheraphy service, tobacco control services, health card/Ayushman registration etc etc.  

Earlier, Chakhesang Youth Front (CYF) president Vezhodüyi Nakro and Dr. Avile Zao, Medical Superintendent, District Hospital Phek spoke at the introductory session.

Nakro thanked the medical services extended by medical team numbering 31 led by 8 doctors.

He also made a fervent request to the medical team to organize medical camp periodically under Phek district.

Dr. Wemeri Khutsoh made introduction of the team members and the purpose of the medical camp while vote of thanks was proposed by deacon Tavesü Getsa.

The medical camp was hosted by Pholami Baptist Church in association with Pholami Youth Organization and Pholami Students’ Union.
