LONGLENG, SEPTEMBER 27 (MExN): The District Level Enforcement Squard (DLES) conducted surprise checking on all shops located within the radius of 100 yards from schools and educational institutions on Sept 27 in Longleng Town.
The team confiscated tobacco products sold in the shops within the vicinity, brought them to the DC office permises and later burnt the presence of the district administration, Police, Excise, Medical Department and GB Union Longleng.
The surprise checking was conducted basing on Section 4 of COTPA Act 2003 and as decided at the first meeting of the DLCC & DTCC, Longleng on September 8 at the DC’s conference hall.
The team was lead by the team leader Roko, EAC, Longleng; Impung Chang, SDPO, Longleng; Albert, AIE Excise Department; Yingi, President, GB Union Longleng; and Dr Longai Phom, Nodal Officer, NTCP Longleng.
