The Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) along with citizen volunteers, commenced repair works along a stretch of the road divider from City Tower junction towards Dragopan road, which began on Monday, March 14.
The ongoing works is an initiative to repair and beautify sections of Dimapur area with the help of individuals from all walks of life. Ronika Miachieo, an environmental activist-cum-volunteer at the site told The Morung Express that the works are a means towards achieving a cleaner and more hygienic environment in the city for the public.
“As a citizen of Dimapur, we all need to take care of our environment as our own, and I encourage everyone to plant more trees to have a better tomorrow,” she shared.
She also informed that the repair works will continue till Thursday next week and hoped that more volunteers will come in the days to follow. Ronika expressed gratitude to Albert Ezung, DMC Administrator, under which the repair work is being carried out.
