DMC re-fixes chicken rates

Dimapur, June 30 (MExN): In view of the stabilization in the wholesale market rate of chicken and chicken product the temporary retail rate fixation as per the Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) order Dated May 18, 2023 has been cancelled and withdrawn with immediate effect. 

The DMC Administrator, W Manpai Phom in an order stated that having discussed with the chicken seller of Dimapur and also comparing the rate from the neighbouring state (Assam), it has decided to re-fix the rate for chicken meat item.

The item and the rate (per kg) will be as prescribed here: Broiler (Live) Rs 180; Broiler (Dressed) 270 per kg; Layer and Fillister (Live) Rs 200; Kuroiler (Live) Rs 300.

The prescribed rate is the maximum amount fixed by DMC, however they are liable to sell below the prescribed rate. The stall has to be hygienic as per the norms and the butchers are directed to provide quality and hygienic meat to the customers, the order stated. 

“Failing to comply with the above instruction, the undersigned will be bound to take appropriate action as per Provisions of Act. This rate will be enforced with immediate effect,” the DMC administrator added.
