Fixes rates for carpenters, plumbers, and electricians
Dimapur, April 22 (MExN): The Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) has fixed the daily wage rate for general skilled male labourers at Rs 700 per day, while the rate for female skilled labourers is Rs 600. The order comes into immediate effect.
Likewise, the wage for semi-skilled male labourers has been set at Rs 600, and Rs 400 for unskilled male labourers. For female labourers, the rate is Rs 500 for semi-skilled and Rs 400 for unskilled workers.
In the same order, the Council also fixed the daily wages for carpenters: Rs 700 for skilled, Rs 600 for semi-skilled, and Rs 400 for unskilled male workers. For female carpenters, the rates are Rs 600, Rs 500, and Rs 350 respectively.
Meanwhile, the wages for plumbing are based on the size of the pipes and measured per running foot. The rates are Rs 40 for 4-inch pipes, Rs 35 for 1½-inch pipes, and Rs 30 for ½- and ¾-inch pipes.
For electrical work, the rate is Rs 280 per point for concealed wiring and Rs 100 per point for outing wiring.
As per the order, these rates are the maximum amounts fixed by the DMC and must be strictly followed. Any failure to comply will invite appropriate action as per the provisions of the law, added the order issued by DMC Chief Executive Officer Thungchanbemo Tungoe.
