Chümoukedima, November 13 (MExN): Students of DMI St Joseph Global School, Ikishe village Chümoukedima embarked on their annual educational tour by visiting the the World War II Cemetery and Catholic Cathedral in Kohima on November 11.
A press release informed that the students of Classes 9 and 10 were accompanied by their Principal Dr C Marianathan, Sr Punita DMI and subject teachers on the tour aimed at broadening horizons of the students by exposing them to diverse historical and cultural landscapes.
The World War II Cemetery served as a poignant reminder of historical events that shaped the course of nations and it was a moment of reflection, turning textbook knowledge into a tangible and emotional experience for the students, the press release maintained.
At Catholic Cathedral, a symbol of spiritual serenity in the heart of Kohima, the students were not just spectators but active participants, engaging with the history, art, and architecture that surrounded them, it said.
The tour seamlessly blended the past and present, transforming abstract concepts into vivid, lasting memories, it added.
The success of the excursion lies not only in the places visited but also in the collaborative effort of the school's leadership and educators and students returned not only with a treasure trove of memories but also with a deeper appreciation for the subjects they study, the release further noted.
