Dimapur, November 6 (MExN): The Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) has condemned the factional clash that took place on November 5 evening near SP Office, Dimapur. The Union, while showing resentment, feels “pain to see Naga Brothers fighting among themselves where Nagas are merging to find the Naga Political Settlement”.
Through a press note from President of DNSU, K. Mhachio Lotha and General Secretary Kambuiga Rongmei, it has appealed to all warring factions “to shun violence and respect the sentiments of the General Public and cease its war against one another”. Festive seasons, said the release, are nearing but people continue to live in fear, as innocent people get victimized through clashes or frisking.
Keeping in mind the “sensitivity of the situation and with the spirit of brotherhood” the Union appealed “both factions not to make public places a battlefield and create fear psychosis in public places”.
The said incident has disturbed sentiments of student community as many students go out for their classes and private tuition the time when the incident occurred. The DNSU, thus, reiterated that “if the present situation is this then what will be the future of our younger generation? What we will learn from our Leaders? There will be no solution with Guns, it can only bring stumbling block to evolution, where we will find isolation among the Naga brothers with hatred”.
