DNSU demands early restoration of electricity

The Dimapur Naga Students’ Union expresses dismay at the inability of the Power Department, Govt. of Nagaland to restore regular supply of electricity in Dimapur at the earliest.

The ongoing load -shedding for the past many days has made living in Dimapur practically difficult for all the citizens. Dimapur, being one of the education hubs in the state has maximum concentration of students coming from across the state. It is sad to say that students are the worst sufferer. The absence of electricity during class hour in the education institutions and in the homes has severely affected the students and their studies.

The Dimapur Naga Students’ Union urge upon the Power Minister, Govt. of Nagaland to give priority to restoration of electricity in Dimapur at the earliest. It also demands that up-gradation of electrical equipments such as transformers is carried out in the state in a war footing particularly in Dimapur, which at many places is insufficient to meet the demands of consumers. It reminded that, the patience so far exercised by the union, should not be taken for granted, if the load-shedding persists for some more days, the DNSU will be compelled to resort to drastic action, the eventuality of which the power department will be held responsible.
