Dimapur, May 7 (MExN): The Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) has hailed the operationalisation of the Science Block at Dimapur Government College (DGC), calling it a significant milestone in providing accessible science education to students in the district.
The Science Block, inaugurated on November 12, 2020, remained non-operational for an extended period. The DNSU has been actively advocating for its functionality and highlighting this concern to the appropriate authorities.
Accordingly, it termed the recent announcement of Bachelor of Science admissions for the academic year 2025 by DGC—with major courses in Mathematics and Physics, and minor courses in Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, and Physics—as a major breakthrough.
It also extended appreciation to the Government of Nagaland and the Higher Education Department for proactively ensuring that the vision of quality science education in Dimapur becomes a reality.
This achievement not only addresses the academic aspirations of hundreds of students annually but also sets a positive precedent for future educational development across Nagaland, it added.
