MA Tenyidie syllabus
Prof D Kuolie said that the framework of the MA Tenyidie syllabus is basically a language oriented course with a primary objective for speedier growth of Tenyidie literature.
It is also envisioned to lead other Naga language communities to come forward in building respective language and literature. The reason behind such thrust is that a nation's prosperity practically depends on the richness of the written literature and through its inherent power human capacity is enhanced in every individual of that community, he said.
To develop a square knowledge, a three inter-disciplinary study in bilingual nature has been integrated with a break-up of 50% total course in Tenyidie, 25% of English literature and 25% of linguistics. Tenyidie language and literature in its growing process is found to have the requirement of a strong support of English literature and linguistics so as to march ahead in a scientific approach, he said.
To draw numerous literary apt features in terms of various branches of literature such as poetry, drama, fiction and literary criticism, English literature is taken as the main source.
Most selected pieces were all popular pieces studied at M.A. English in almost all Universities in India and foreign countries so as to inspire the learners to apply rich literary genres in their creative writing of Tenyidie.
It is equally significant to learn the linguistic science unto Tenyidie, the fact that Tenyidie is a highly complex language at all levels of study, he said.
For the reason, major descriptive branches like phonology, morphology and syntax of structural level and semantics at contextual level have been incorporated, spread over to four semesters' duration. Other major branches like sociolinguistics and applied studies such as language teaching, stylistics study etc. were incorporated with higher expectation in learners literary output, he said.
