Why not you start reflecting on the unending exploitation, oppression and suppression of the hill people for ages while you adamantly still hang on to the outdated and dying idea of assumed purist dominance over the polluted Hills which acts as buffers to your sanalaibak! Remember old people get senile while children grow, that’s the natural law which cannot be obliterated though your sanscritized psyche may want to. Stop telling me what I should do and don’t tell me that ‘20 years ago, there were none in the hills that had an idea of democracy’. By the way you have scripted your response, you must be either from a low caste category from the Imphal outskirts or Jiribam. Stop telling me that Meities wants to piggy ride with Naga investment in sufferings, resistance and struggle to survive. Be normal, stop talking with your forked tongue and there maybe chances that forgiveness may come to uphold the larger Mongolian seed provided you stop your self righteous arrogance and humble down. Nagas are clear with their history, struggle and their determination for future. Stop preaching to us about democracy since democracy is a way of life for us. Look at yourself trying to recuperate after your so called millennium of princely casteist dispensation.
Meitie sense of democracy and scientific advancement will prove that the gift of the scorpion under the garb of rejected ‘ADC’ as part of their pious democratic decentralization process has betrayed and threatened the tribal hill people’s dignity and survival. You must clearly know this. Please discontinue dumping the load on the so called ‘your’ MLA’s, many Rishang’s and others who fronted your parasitic ambition and maneuvers during the time that are gone. Why do you keep on mentioning the off repeated ‘Tangkhul’ NSCN (IM) while you stupidly expose your intention of sowing the seeds of distrust and dividing the Hill peoples particularly the Naga nation. We do not need anyone to prescribe or ascribe our identity anymore like you have been doing with vigorous propensity which has failed. You can continue shouting that Naga districts like Tamenglong, Ukhrul, Senapati, Chandel have no Nagas but just the tribals who are yet to open their eyes to start fishing for themselves. Do not be mistaken and do not waste you precious time any longer because it’s a waste. Either you reconciled to the truth that you and your Manipur Imphal are secured when you have good neighbourly ties and not like the days of British assisted mercenary massacres with colonially gifted muzzle loading musket guns to terrorize. Remember at no point of history Meities have subjugated the Naga Hills with your own strength and wisdom. British colonizers did assist in the centuries gone to protect their interest like how the Indian dominion is allowing you to fish in troubled waters, assisting in your project of force assimilation under administratively convenient ways. Your craving for land and resources to satiate your undying avarice has made you experiment all tools at your control to exploit, steal and mutilate the hill dwellers to built up a kingdom sustained on pillaging the Hills to maintain your robber economy and institutions. Your tactical overdo to criminalize the peoples leadership in the Naga domain has not gained you much but resolute protest and unified resistance to put the dog in the manger once for all. Nagas caravan will continue while you bark. You should be ashamed to claim a history of many centuries Before Christ when you know that your ancient kingdom may have been floating in space while the now Imphal valley geologically was under water. How can a community who claim to have developed a scientific temper of their world view bask in the glory of manufactured myth and irrelevant negative social energy such as casteism. The world over has condemned casteism as the most extreme form of racism much more worse than the apparent white apartheid against the black skins. What makes you Bamkimchandra assume that you are superior human than the Hill peoples who are from the same racial descent as ‘haos’ while they continue their vitriolics, demeaning the spirit of democracy. Let’s be realistic. Don’t continue heaping your extra baggage on the Hill peoples and start deconstructing the myth on which your people are living history. Nagas and the hill peoples are ready to respect your territorial ambition for a distinctive Meitei valley city state. Confused as you are as a people when you cannot stand by your manufactured history and leaning back to indigenous people’s forum internationally. Your chimera will be exposed sooner than later everywhere when the tests of fire for suppression of a self-determination movement while your cries for your own self determination go overboard. Why not develop a sense of honour and start practicing sanamahi faith while joining the common struggle for equal dignity and freedom of a sieged state like Manipur. Stop your double talk and explore honest means to find ways to respond for sincere dialogue instead of blackmails, using and instigating other inhuman forces at your disposal. Think clearly, Nagas have continued to open channel for peoples to peoples dialogue. We acknowledge that Meities are crying foul on the AFSPA while they are still happy with the municipal areas out of the ambit of this legislation. What have you done in the past more than five decades when you willingly imposed the draconian legislation with equal contempt for the Nagas under the campaign to “domesticate and eliminate the few wild rebels?” The blood of the hills will flow down naturally to throw some light while you bark from your comfort zone of Imphal citystate. We are for self-identification and self-determination. No matter how long the night the day is coming. We will resist with every ounce of strength at every strategy of forceful incorporation, assimilationist policy to reduce our unique culture and identity to ashes. We will throttle every ambition to take over our sacred land under the mock screen of preserving and conserving forest biodiversity.
The current ADC Act has being laid as a bait to steal our land and resources, while keeping a long impoverished hill Nagas enmeshed in a cauldron of systematic and induced, chronic corruption and violence perpetuated by the dominant Meitei state machinery. The Manipur state manna released in the form of unwanted ADC election, abandoned and out rightly rejected by the Nagas was wickedly the key bait for endorsing control, incorporation and legitimization for strangulation of a people still journeying towards its destiny. Enough is enough. Stop preaching democratic decentralization, do not make us forceful partners to your myth driven millennium history of exploitation, hatred and domination. Denial of our identity and distortion of our history, heritage and culture have been made possible through the state power wielded by the chauvinists Meities. Remember, the psychological indoctrination of ‘chin tam amatani’ can not find voice now leave aside any spirit of emotional oneness anywhere. The resistance against an imposed Meitei mayek language script and imposition of concocted history syllabus where the hills peoples particularly ethnic Naga identity were never acknowledged is just a demonstration of our determination that Nagas in particular will not agree to this falsified doctored history where their legal existence has been questioned and threatened with ‘total obliteration’ under the common category of ‘tribals’ whom the Meitei considers unfit to exercise self determination over their own ways of life. The media houses in Imphal have garbaged the naga aspiration bringing about a contestation of either you or me, die or survive propagandist agenda, forgetting completely that we the Hill peoples were made to be forcefully gobbled down their throats and bear up with the demeaning status under this deliberate entrapment without our consent, from which we will free ourselves sooner than later.
Bamkinchandra, the right to life which was grievously violated at Mao gate but painted white by the Meitei media squadron to the world is democracy to you, isn’t it ? Do you think Nagas will allow their story of sweat, pain, shame and struggle be swept under the Meitei carpet for an untenable Indian subject state of Manipur’s territorial integrity? No, no that’s not the way any human should treat another. When basic rights are trampled for centuries, will the sphinx continue to remain silent and dumb as you perceived? We live down here on earth in our own land and not above the clouds on a so called imposed territorial entity of Manipur. WE THE PEOPLE will take our own decision and determine what we do with our future. Stop your patronizing lectures and go back to your comfortable cocoon.
Like what NPHRM stated, ‘the preamble of the Universal Declaration on Human Rights recognizes that “the inherent dignity and … equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family is the foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world and that disregard and contempt for human rights resulted in barbarous acts.” The preamble goes on to warn that “…it is essential if man is not to be compelled to have recourse, as the last resort, to rebellion against tyranny and oppression, that human rights should be protected by the rule of law.” Article 21 of UDHR, “the will of the people shall be the basis of the authority of government”. Where a government ignores the will of the people and goes further seeking to suppress the will of the people, it becomes a tyranny. As such it loses legitimacy by which it pretends to govern.
Its time for the likes of Bamkinchandra who represent the so called dominant forces in the Manipur state machinery and society to re-evaluate where they stand. Any further hindrance to way of justice and peace will be tantamount to denial of our basic human rights of space and identity. Further this scientifically advanced community will solely be responsible for any eventuality that may be provoked by this unjustified prolonged denial and suppressed anger due to dehumanization of the people it pretends to govern.
And in ending, do not speak for Maos or Marams, just shut up, we can do it ourself. How many Mao gate’s Mayhem will it take to make you sensible and rational to become aware of our nonviolent humane aspiration? Hey ! you, who wield the rod today, is it dogmatism or democracy you are preaching?
