
Dimapur, May 4 (MExN): Along with the rest of the world, Assisi Centre for Integrated Development (ACID) celebrated International Workers’ Day at Assisi hall, Lake View Colony, here where hundreds of domestic workers from different areas of Dimapur attended the programme. A. Hanan Tapadar, President of Dimapur Muslim Council (DMC) highlighted about the importance of workers union and rights of the labors. He also emphasized on providing education to the labours’ children. Tapadar said it was a great opportunity for all the workers to get knowledge about their rights and rights concerning their children in order to exhibit their children’s hidden talent in the field of literary and cultural activities. He also encouraged the domestic workers to stand together in union to attain their rights. In his speech, he encouraged them to be more sincere and work with dedication, having dignity of labour. Pointing out the exploitation of workers, Tapadar exhorted that every labour should know their individual’s right and freedom besides the power of labour union.
Dr. Rongsengla, President of Helper Club, Dimapur, while elucidating on workers’ health emphasized on the importance of good health, cleanliness and the relationship of mother with the child during pregnancy. She assured the gathering that she would extend her helping hand in regards to workers’ health.
