Annual Euphoria Festival of Don Bosco College Kohima organized by DBCK and Student Forum started on September 22.

Kohima, September 23 (MExN): The annual Euphoria Festival of Don Bosco College Kohima (DBCK), organized by DBCK and Student Forum started on September 22. The festival started with the cultural day on the theme, ‘with great power comes great responsibility.’

The special invitee, Yanpvou Kikon, Entrepreneur & Consultant, spoke on the ‘reminiscence of the Naga culture and traditions.’ He spoke on the level of intellectual maturity of the Naga Youths. He gave a critical analysis on the culture of the Nagas as well as a self introspection on where the Nagas are headed. 

Kikon emphasized that the Nagas were unique as well as different and ‘should learn to celebrate our culture amidst the differences.’ He urged the students to promote the Naga culture to the rest of the world and trace our roots back to our ancestors, mentioning the influence of one culture on the other culture. He requested the students to re-establish and retrace our culture and mentioned to the students to not generalize each culture but use it as our strength.

Media Cell DBCK in a press release stated that the master of the programme was Richungmong T, 5th Semester, Department of Political Science, Invocation by Fr PJ Varghese, Spiritual Minister (DBCK), Welcome note by Fr Dr P Suresh, Principal DBCK followed by a special presentation by Hopong Chingmak, 1st Semester, Department of Commerce and Sentila Kichu, 5th Semester, Department of English.

The programme ended with a display of the indigenous games, followed by vote of thanks by Jennifer Wotsa (GS DBCK, SF).
