Longleng, January 20 (MExN): Suresh Kumar S, Statistical Advisor (Joint Secretary Level), Chief Nodal Officer for Nagaland, Ministry of DoNER; Nehjamang Simte, Deputy Secretary, MDoNER; and Dharmendra Kumar, Section Officer, MDoNER visited Sawa village in Mon district and Yongam village in Longleng district on January 18, and held an interactive meeting with the village councils and various stakeholders at council halls of the respective villages.
According to a DIPR report, the visit aimed to generate awareness among the citizens about the ‘SAMBHAV Mission Mode’ programme which focuses on the development of backward blocks/villages across the Northeast by converging and monitoring key indicators such as access to health, education, drinking water, electricity, and financial inclusion.
During the interaction, the central team enquired how the community was utilizing and implementing the different Central and State Government schemes into practice at the grassroots level.
The team also instructed the village officials to draw attention to the need for local development and the flaws in the various projects.
SDO Civil, Aboi, Arhomo Yanthan, NCS, EAC Longleng, Dr Samuel Akho Konyak P, NCS, Dobashis of Mon and Longleng, several other government officials and village leaders and citizens participated in the programmes held at Sowa village and Yongam village.
