Mon, July 21 (MExN): Department of Social Welfare (DoSW), Additional Director, Tulula Pongen held a meeting with all Anganwadi workers under Mon district on July 19 at Council Hall, Mon.
Speaking on the occasion, Pongen stressed on the Ratriya Poshan Abhiyaan programme, informing that it is a convergence of many departments where Social Welfare is the nodal department. She advised the Anganwadi workers to work sincerely on this holistic programme adding that the targeted groups are children under 0-6 years of age, adolescent girls, pregnant women and lactating mothers.
Anganwadi workers are the ones who are working directly at the grassroots level to the beneficiaries and doing major role in the community services, Pongen mainatined. She requested the workers to mobilize on the awareness of nutrition mission.
Meanwhile, a meeting was held for District Convergence Committee for implementation of Rashtriya Poshan Abhiyaan (National Nutrition Mission) at the DC’s Conference Hall on July 18 with Additional Director, Social Welfare, Tulula Pongen. Thavaseelan K, IAS DC & District Convergence Action Plan Committee Chairman Mon chaired the meeting.
