
Phek, December 11 (MExN): The Phek District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) convened its monthly meeting and coordination session for the forthcoming 50th-anniversary celebration. The meeting was held at Hotel Japfu, Kohima on December 11.
A DIPR report stated that chaired by DC and Vice Chairman DPDB Phek, Kuko Mero, NCS, the meeting included the presence of KG Kenye, Chairman DPDB and Minister for Power & Parliamentary Affairs, as well as Azo Nienu MLA and NPF Legislators Party Leader, Dr Neisatuo Mero MLA.
KG Kenye, serving as the convener of the Finance Committee for the anniversary celebration, urged Heads of Offices and leaders of various sub-committees to earnestly contribute to the success of the celebration within their allocated budgets.
Azo Nienu, MLA encouraged HoOs and officers in Phek district to take initiative for the celebration on the scheduled date of December 21, suggesting the inclusion of families and friends.
Dr Neisatuo Mero, MLA, addressed concerns about villagers in remote areas being unable to attend the celebration. He proposed a district-wide sanitation social work day on December 20, 2023, as part of the 50th-anniversary festivities.
The meeting extensively discussed the upcoming celebration, with conveners and members from various sub-committees sharing their perspectives. The Department of Economic & Statistics and Soil & Water Conservations were entrusted with powerpoint presentations for the next Phek DPDB meeting.
