DPS Dimapur honours class XII board exam achievers

Coming under the heels of one of their best board exam results in the recently held All India Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (AISSCE), 2022 for class XII students, Delhi Public School (DPS), Dimapur organised a felicitation programme for the achievers at the school premises on August 4.   

A total of 49 students from the arts, science and commerce streams had scored an aggregate percentage of above 85% in the examination.

Dr Aotoshi, Pro Vice Chairman, DPS Dimapur speaking during the occasion observed that this year's accomplishment deserves greater appreciation as in spite of the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic; the students, teachers and staffs of the school have come out on top as exemplified by the results. 

He stated that the efficient use of digital technology to carry on with online classes during the lockdowns had prevented the disruption of imparting quality education for the students as well. Besides he noted that the education system is moving into a new paradigm shift with regard to the introduction of the New Education Policy (NEP). 

“Through the kind of ecosystem provided in DPS in terms of infrastructure facilities and the teaching staffs we are able to achieve these results,” he said.

Moreover, he encouraged the students to be the ambassadors of the school through exemplifying their performances, behaviour and activities in their personal lives.  

Meanwhile, DPS Dimapur Principal, BK Nanda spoke on the value of imparting quality education for the students of the school in terms of key aspects such as wisdom, intelligence, awareness, facilities and ambience so as to prepare them for the challenges of life. As such he stressed for the need to move away from the old habit of studying and teaching for marks sake.   

He additionally mentioned that Delhi Public School Society is the only organization that has a Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC) that focuses on training and equipping teachers to deliver the best to the students.

During the occasion, four students securing 96.6% to 97.8% and 13 students securing 90.0% to 94.8% were given a cash award of Rs 25,000 and Rs 15,000 each respectively.

Ashmita Mazumder of Arts Stream topped the overall school record with 97.8%, Sushant Jain and T Temjenwabang scored the highest percentage from Commerce and Science Stream with 97.2% and 91.0% respectively. A record number of 09 students scored 100 marks in Geography, Accountancy, Business Studies, Painting and Physical Education.
