DPS Dimapur signed a Memorandum of Understanding with NIELIT on December 20.

Dimapur, December 20 (MExN): To impart various training programmes in the field of IECT & Emerging Technologies, the Delhi Public School (DPS), Dimapur has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NIELIT, (National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology), Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India.
The school stated in a press release that on behalf of the parties, the MOU was signed by BK Nanda, Principal, DPS Dimapur and L Lanuwabang, Director, NIELIT in the presence of Dr Aotoshi, Pro-Vice Chairman, DPS Dimapur, and Daniel Meren, Addl Director, NIELIT Kohima on December 20.
Addressing a gathering of teachers and students of DPS Dimapur and officials of NIELIT at Dimapur, Nanda said schools must collaborate and extend their association so that premier institutions can contribute towards skilling and up-skilling of the students enrolled in various courses of NIELIT. He expressed hope that the MoU would provide different avenues for the students and that NIELIT Kohima should also extend the support in up-skilling the teachers of the School.
Highlighting on the provisions of the MoU, L Lanuwabang informed that NIELIT Kohima will take initiatives like organising lectures, FDPs, invited talks, workshops on the latest fields and technologies such as AI, 3D Printing, Blockchain and IoT. He reiterated that this MoU envisions students of DPS to undertake O Level NSQF Level 5, Computer Application Associate, NSQF Level 4 and Course on Computer Concepts, NSQF Level 3 courses so that students will not only be digitally sound but make a career out of it. It may be mentioned that NIELIT has been recognized as a Deemed University and in the state of Nagaland, it has its own Centres in Kohima, Dimapur and Chuchuyimlang.
A presentation on ‘awareness on cyber security & emerging technologies’ was made by Moasunep, Senior Technical Officer, NIELIT Kohima. Information and resources related with future and emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Internet of Things, 3D Modelling & Printing, Big Data Analytics, Robotic Process Automation were also shared with the students.
Additional Director, NIELIT, Daniel Meren gave a presentation on various course details that can be offered in schools which can are compatible with New Education Policy and are being implemented by CBSE.
