Dimapur, January 6 (MExN): Parliamentary Secretary, Agriculture, Dr. Benjongliba Aier, today inaugurated a Link Road constructed by the Sangpang Zunga of Japu between Longnak Jn and Japu Village in the presence of officials led by Imtiwapang, ADC, Mangkolemba and Village Council Members of Japu and Longtho Villages.
According to a press release, the link road, which is about 7 kms in length, shortens the road between Longnak Jn and Mangkolemba Town by about 12 kms. Dr. Aier thanked the villagers, especially Sangpang Zunga for their tireless effort in constructing the road for the benefit of the people of Alongtaki A/C in particulars and the Ao people in general.
Later in the day, Dr. Aier also inaugurated the Alongsungkum Club Volleyball Tournament at Japu. In his inaugural speech, Dr. Aier advised players to be well disciplined and to exhibit temperance. He recalled how young players from the range contributed to popularizing the game of volleyball in the past and produced a lot of volleyball players in spite of poor facilities. He advised the youngsters to emulate their example and footsteps with greater zeal.
